Dr. Christopher Likens, O.D.

Dr. Likens is one of the partners at Woodbridge Optometry. He graduated from Southern California College of Optometry in 1983. While attending optometry school Dr. Likens was awarded the prestigious Irving M. Borish, OD award for an outstanding clinical research paper.

Dr. Likens is a founding member of the American Optometric Association along with the California Optometric Association, and the Orange County Optometric Society. He is also a member of the Contact Lens section of the AOA.

He has earned his therapeutic treatment licensure in 1996 and his glaucoma management and treatment certification in 2001.

Dr. Likens' clinical emphasis is in contact lenses and disease treatment of the eye including his special interest in the treatment of dry eyes. He is also a primary clinical investigator for a contact lens company and does consulting work for Allergan.

Dr. Likens has been a resident in Irvine since 1983. He has two almost grown children in college who have enjoyed the Irvine school system. His outside interest include photography, biking, and travel. He has a special interest in technology, which can be found at Woodbridge Optometry.

Dr. Karen K. Toki, O.D.

Dr. Toki has been with Woodbridge Optometry since 1999. She brings a wealth of knowledge in the practice of primary eye care with fifteen years of experience in multi-specialty groups. She is always happy to see her patients both in and out of the office and enjoys using the new technologies available at Woodbridge to better monitor changes in diabetes, macular degeneration, glaucoma and cataracts.

Dr. Toki graduated from Southern California College of Optometry in 1984, earned her Therapeutic licensure in 1998, and completed her glaucoma treatment and management certification in 2003. She graduated cum laude from UCLA.

While in school Dr. Toki received the George I. Deane Jr., O.D. Memorial Leadership Award, the Geraldine J. Sherman Memorial Scholarship Award, and the Dr. Art Sugino Memorial Award. She was a featured speaker at the "Women in Science and Mathematics" conference, sponsored by UCI and the Association of University Women. She is a member of the Asian American Optometric Society, serving one year as the Publication Chairman.

Irvine has proven to be ideal for Dr. Toki's family, work and community desires. Her husband is an educator who has coached many of their sons' basketball and baseball teams who now attend schools in Irvine. Dr. Toki enjoys volunteering at her sons' schools and on their football, basketball and baseball teams and has been the team photographer for her son's high school basketball team. The Toki family has enjoyed being part of the Orange Coast Optimists where her sons have been involved in community service. When not shuttling her sons to games and practices, she can be found reading a good book or walking her dog. In 2009 she walked in her first ½ Marathon.

Dr. Elaine Kao, O.D.

Dr. Kao was born and raised in Southern California. She graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Sciences. She then went on to pursue her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton and graduated in 2011. Dr. Kao is licensed to therapeutically treat and manage ocular diseases, specifically glaucoma. She believes strongly in educating her patients about their condition, as well as UV protection.

From her clinical rotations as a senior at SCCO, Dr. Kao has experience working with underprivileged communities at the Optometric Center of Los Angeles, co-managing patients with an Ophthalmologist in Sacramento, and examining our veterans at the Southwest Veterans Clinic in Las Vegas, NV.

Dr. Kao has lived in Cypress since 1988. On her days off, Dr. Kao can be found enjoying the outdoors, searching for delicious food, or watching a musical at the OCPAC.

Robert Lynch - Optometric Director

Bob has been licensed since 1992 and is a board certified Optician and board certified contact lens technician. He comes from a long line of opticians including his grandfather and father. Bob joined Woodbridge Optometry in 1994 with a wealth of optical knowledge. He is well versed in all aspects of the optical field. Whether you have questions about eyeglass prescriptions, lens technical details, something less complex, or if you need expert advice in frame selection, Bob can answer your questions and discuss the best options for your lifestyle and needs. He does expert frame adjustments and lens cutting in our in-house lab. Bob is also our LASIK consultant and he usually has the answer to any LASIK questions. Bob lives in Lake Forest and has two children with his lovely wife Karen.

Julie Davis - Front Desk, Insurance Biller

Julie Davis has been a part of Woodbridge Optometry since 1992. With her always sunny disposition she is our official welcoming wagon. Julie is usually the first person to greet you on the phone or in the office. She manages our front desk and keeps the office running smoothly. Julie sets up patient appointments, orders contact lenses, pretests patients and administers insurance claims. Julie will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about our office or procedures. Julie is a mother of two children and resides in Cypress.

Mrs. Valery Vasquez - Optometric Technician

Valery Vasquez is an ABO certified optician and contact lens specialist. She joined Woodbridge Optometry in 2007 with over 16 years of optical experience. Valery has 2 preschool age children, 2 dogs and is married to husband Victor, also an ABO certified optician. You will find Valery answering the phones and confirming your appointment (just don't forget to call her back to confirm).

Paty Olmos - Optometric Technician

Paty joined Woodbridge Optometry 2007 with many years of experience in the optical field. Paty has a great sense of style and when it comes to choosing the right color and design to suit your face, lifestyle, and budget, Paty is ready to guide you. You will find Paty in the frame dispensary and in our pretest area.

Rebecca Patrick - Optometric Technician

Rebecca is the newest member of the Woodbridge Optometry family. She began her career in the optical industry in 1999 in the great state of Alaska. The following year, she and her husband decided to head south to California, which is now where they call home. Rebecca's continued passion and dedication is shown through her enjoyment of working with patients. With her knowledge of technology and fashion, she is the one to help you find the best solution for your eyewear needs. You can find her in the pretest area or in the dispensary.

Mehar Alvi - Optometric Technician

Mehar (Mimi) has worked in the optical field for a more than 4 years, after graduating from Southern Oregon University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Minor in Business. She always has a positive attitude and enjoys working in optics and fashionable eyewear and the Irvine area. Mehar is currently working on her Master's Degree and her hobbies include reading, exploring art shows and spending time with her family. She lives in Laguna Hills with her family whom she adores, especially her mother. The positive atmosphere, welcoming environment and wonderful patients is what she cherishes at Woodbridge. Mehar will always try her best to help you chose the right eye wear that will compliment you and bring you joy.

Holly Lee - Optometric Technician

Holly began her optical career in 2006 in Huntington Beach, where she was soon promoted to office manager. After more than 4 years she decided to work closer to home. That's when Holly found Woodbridge Optometry. She was immediately impressed with the technology-forward nature of the office couldn't wait to be a part of the team. You will find Holly in insurance billing, helping you chose beautiful frames to fit your needs and style, in the pretest room, and answering calls and confirming appointments. Holly is eager to help in anyway she can.

John Zamarripa - Optometric Technician

John is a familiar face at Woodbridge Optometry and is back with us after away from the practice. John joined Woodbridge Optometry in early 2007 and has been in the optical field for over 7 years including 2 years in customer service at CooperVision. He applies his skill and experience with fashion eyewear in dispensing. You may also find John helping you with your pretesting before seeing one of the doctors. You will always find John with a smile and a positive attitude. He is married and is the proud father of a newborn son. Some of his favorite pastimes are watching hockey, baseball, basketball and exercising.
